Summary:

According to this article, as information technology companies show new ways to offer infrastructure to businesses, the term ‘cloud computing’ is becoming more common. The Internet is an accessible network of servers for data and information. However, the author shows that by 2012, “one-fifth of all companies will no longer own their IT”. The information business will increase its recognised IT by 60 percent. Any network is usually a connection between two or more computers. Cloud computing is a single server providing multiple services. “There are many virtual private servers on single physical servers at an internet service provider” Also, the article show that there are three types of cloud that connect between services and user. Infrastructure clouds referred, to as IaaS, they are where hardware resources or physical resources are. The data and storage clouds provide infrastructure on each application. Data and storage cloudsare short on this example, ” Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3)”. It is let you read, write and delete files from 1byte to 5terabyte each.Compute Cloudshave environments that include processing power. For example; Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) is a web service that provides resizable computer capacity in the cloud. It is designed to make web-scale computing easier for developers. Also, the author claim that software cloudsare single application made available as a service. In sum, cloud computing comes with problems but the newer technology is not without risk.

Reaction:
This article is inspiring and gives very important information that I will add to my computer dictionary. First, the number of objects you can store is unlimited because the numbers of Bytes equal 5 terabyte ×10244. It is a huge. Second, cloud computing describes computation, software, data access, and storage services that do not physical materials. The users can not see or work on it. That boils down to the fact: the cloud computing is working in background of the computers.

Summary:
The author claims that there are two companies that are experimenting with tools that mix technology and reality. She focuses in on researchers’ idea that adds new tools to help kids learn better computer games. The idea is how to allow children to move real objects to make something happen in a computer game. However, the article shows how the strategy that ties technology to the real world takes several years. There are powerful mobile games and computer games. Many researchers try to develop games that use augmented reality. “Dinosaur Train” series has been a popular game these days. Many children who are four or five children like it. Also, the author shows that reality games have several benefits. They keep children active and work in the real world without imagination. On the other hand, some games have a problem. They are specific to special ages. The author also shows “Socks Inc” did public online version of the game in April and the children liked it.
Reaction:
This article is very interesting, because It focuses in on the children’s hopes. Really these days the children do not have free time to play outside their home because their parents are working outside. Now they can see the world from computer games. The researchers came up with a great idea when they developed regular games into games similar to the real world. Actually, I like computer games. I played “Dinosaur Train”. It was interesting because I learned new words and it was like reality. Indeed, the parents should organize their children’s computer games time. In my opinion, 3 hours in the vacation and 1 hour in the studying is a great plan to play computer games.

Summary:
The article shows that technology (DVD’s, computers game, cell phones and TV shows) has become a way of life for most young people. The parents’ role is to watch their children. However, the author claimes that our children are losing touch with the core values of their parents and grandparents. Bedtime stories and music and sound effects help children cope with growing up. Also, she explains that these days most parents are working outside the home. Then, grandparents are free to rear grandkids. This article also shows that Creative Children Magazine gave the series the 2010 CD of the Year award.

Reaction:

This article is interesting because it focuses in on the important topic,” We Lost Our Children to Technology”, that affects our children. Although we knew technology has many benefits, it has many harm at the same time. This article reminds me of my uncle’s son. He is four years old. He always watches TV. The TV affects him. However, he eats, plays, sleeps, talks and speaks like what he watches. So, the author came up with great idea when she looked children programs to reinforce the relationship between the children and their parents. In my opinion, it is parent’s role to save their children from technology. Their children need to talk with them. They need to learn their parent’s behavior not Tome and Jerri’s behavior.

If smokers quit, who will our children have to look down to?

Reference: Brown, C. (2011, Jan.27). If smokers quit, who will our children have to look down to? Retrived 27 January 2011 from GuelphMercury.com: http:// news.guelphmercury.com/life/article/750221

Summary:

According to this article, there are 20 percent of adults in a province of Canada who use tobacco. This number leads

to this: there are young children who also smoke. In the 1970s approximately 102 percent of Canadian adults smoke . The kids

believed that you had nothing to do in your free time if you did not smoke. An oddball person who did not get smoking could

do any thing to feel cool .For example, they used their shirt to smell the air in the car. The local rink is smoke free. That is

why some players are in such poor physical condition. Smoking causes people to die indirectly.

Reaction:

I disappointed by the news that comes in this article. I surprised when I read the number of smokers in one country in 1977. In

every country alarming people to avoid smoking is very important, for example, by using radio, TV or magazine. The cigarette

does not affect on the smokers but also effects people who sit behind the smoke .That called "Second-hand smoke". Most

people who smoke have problems on their life, for example, family problem, studying stress, losing job ,bad friends and alot of

free time I think most of these people are teenagers . The role of the family is very important to watch their children and their

children's friends. There are a link between tobacco and the dangers of diseases like cancer

Smoking, Secondhand and thirdhand Smoke and our Health!

Reference: June, M. Lay, M.S. (2011, Jan. 18). Smoking, Secondhand Smoke and our Health!

Retrieved 14 February . 2011 from Contributing Columnist - HealthNewsDigest.com

Summary

According to June M, Lay, M. S; in this article “Smoking Secondhand Smoke and our Health” the authors support this article by using a combination of facts, personal opinions and evidence obtained from recent polls. In begin, June and Lay hope that all people must connection together to help anyone who smokes to quit. The authors give much information about smoking and respiratory disease. They discuss three smoking cases .First of all, they show us how firsthand is dangerous. As they describe that cigarette damages smoker’s DNA. In addition, they explain that there are relation between smoking and cancer. Second, as the authors show that secondhand smoke is very dangerous because “cigarette smoke contains over 63 different chemicals which we inhale if we smoke or are near someone who is smoking”. Next, they show how we inhale toxic chemicals in the public places and he gives a restaurant as example. Third, the authors explain that there is also thirdhand smoke. They improve his writing with scientist’s facts. The scientists find that ‘“thirdhand smoke” the invisible remains of cigarette smoke that deposits and remain on carpeting….. and other surfaces’. They give that how chemicals can affect babies crawling as example .In the end, they explain “the positive reasons to quit”. In sum, these are the author’s arguments; however, I will show you some points that I agree and disagree with there.

Reaction:

In this article ,Smoking Secondhand Smoke and our Health, I agree with the authors on some points which is all people have same assignment to help cigarette smoke to quit. There are many people who do not belief of effect articles. I kind of agree with their belief. But, this article changed my mind. I have a strong reason to support my argument. The authors support their article by using a combination of facts, personal opinions and evidence obtained from recent polls I like their three strong reasons .First, they show us how firsthand smoke is dangerous on our healthy. How is this possible? “Cigarettes destroy a smoker’s DNA within minute of inhaling”. Cigarettes also cause for cancer and other illnesses. Second, they showed us how secondhand smoke. The secondhand smoke contains over 63 different chemicals. That is why in some places the smoking is not allowed for example, restaurants and hospitals. Third, they show us how Thirdhand smoke is also very dangerous. I like their deep describe that thirdhand smoke is not “invisible” for example on clothing and on furniture. In my opinion, we have to pay attention with three cases of smoking because they are very effect on our healthy. There is one point that I do not agree with. It is Firsthand, secondhand smoke and thirdhand smoke “ can be equally dangerous to our healthy?” I have my argument. I know that firsthand smoke is less dangerous than secondhand and thirdhand smoke. Moreover, secondhand smoke is less dangerours than thirdhand smoke. So, when someone smokes he will take just the harm of cigarette. However, When someone near someone who smoking he or she will inhale the nicotine and other chemical that in the air. Moreover, if someone napping on the sofa then he will inhale nicotin, other chemical in air and new chemical on the sofa. So, three cases of smoke can not be equally dangerous. In short, we need to save our life because smoking causes people to die indirectly.

Summary:

According to this article, when Thompson and Ritchie began coming up with the UNIX operating system in the past, they did not think that their work would become public and be the main computer system in world. They wanted to create an operating system. As he wrote UNIX was created at the same time as the C language. It provide for all systems like network , software and programs. He came up with UNIX because the systems are expensive and complex operating systems. He looked to make the life a little easier. It is important these days. UNIX has a edition to universities. UNIX is type of "open source". Berkeley developed a new version knew as Berkeley Software Distribution . Go is an open programing language.

Reaction:

This article is inspiring and gives hope that change to a better life is always possible if they work for it. However, I like this article because it boils down to this: Our life train because time is running very fast. The people like to work on "open source" operating systems. The main reason for that is these kinds of operating systems such as, UNIX, REDHAT and LINUX are free and provided with all programs like C language , Java and diffident modern games. Moreover, You can download UNIX from the internet as free. You can download it on a normal CD.The important diffident between UNIX and other systems is UNIX is saving your money and cheaper than other systems.Thompson and Ritchie really deserve the honor, "Ten Japan Prize" and "Nobel Prize" because they make our life easier.
